Disenchanted Review (Slight Spoilers)

Disney’s Disenchanted is the sequel to 2007’s Disney’s Enchanted. And was it worth the 15 year wait? I believe so! The movie is simply darling and the message at it’s core is absolutely beautiful. It feels like well…a fairytale. The movie captures the spirt of the first one and expands on the story itself, bringing new life into the world they live in.

Giselle played by the wonderful Amy Adam’s bounced right back into the character with ease, same with James Marsden who plays Prince Edward. However two  actors from the original cast takes on take on newer versions of their roles with  Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and Nancy (Idina Menzel) with becoming royalty. And honestly was a joy to see! You can tell they had so much fun playing the newer  versions of their roles. Everyone in general seemed to have fun!

Like i said before the story feels like a fairytale with a sweet message. In the movie Giselle is trying to live her life beyond the Happily Ever After with her family as everyone is trying to adjust to the new lifestyle in the suburbs. Especially Morgan, their eldest teenage daughter.

Which is there the story mostly focusing on, with Morgan and Giselle’s mother daughter relationship! They both want different things in this new house they moved into and it’s a tricky balance for both.

So Giselle makes a wish using an Andalasia wand that eventually turned their lives into well..a complete fairytale with singing, dancing, love, princess, princes, queens and so much more! However here’s the twist, Giselle being Morgan’s Step Mother becomes a version of an Wicked Evil Step Mother fighting between herself.

Morgan in this new wish becomes a fairytale princess with singing, dancing, falling in love and eventually saving the day with her family and friends in their own way.

And let me just say the visuals are stunningly beautiful especially with the classic storybook animation they bring into the movie, just in the first one. The songs? Pretty good! Each song had it’s own tone, message and catchy lyrics to makes you wanna hear again. In this movie, we get Idina Menzel singing this one too, and of course, her singing is absolutely gorgeous! Patrick Dempsey even adds a few fun vocals into the mess of the tale. James Marsden, charming and funny along with him singing cheerfully.

There is so much more stuff i could say about this movie, but let’s wrap this up shall we? The movie was overall really charming, aesthetically pleasing and beautifully designed in the way it was crafted. You can tell how much love and dedication they put into this project.

I would definitely recommend it, fun for the whole family.
