Baby Please Come Home For Christmas..

Welcome back everyone! Here's another holiday story to give you Christmas cheer, take a look.

Joanna was sitting at her desk at work, the day before christmas eve glancing over at her picture frame. A smile creeped up on her face as she saw the picture, her and her boyfriend laughing. ‘God I miss him…’ she thought. Joanna was quickly pulled out of her thoughts as one of friends called her names.

It was Angie who was gathering her stuff, ready to leave for the holidays. Angie gave her friend a cheeky smile as she asked, “So are you coming over to my holiday party tomorrow?

“Uhhh, maybe? Besides I have work to do anyway, but I-” Joanna stopped as she glanced over to the photo, once again.

“You're thinking about him, aren’t you?” Angie asked, putting on her coat. While Joanna just nodded. “Well honey, he will be back soon. If they released my husband last week, Bucky wouldn't be far behind.”

She thanked her friend, putting on her jacket and hat getting ready to leave herself. The girls smiled to themselves knowing that Angie and Joanna pulled each other into a tight hug, walking out of the office together.

Later on, Joanna was sitting on the couch drinking hot chocolate, watching a christmas movie and her dog, Roxy, cuddled up beside her. Looking around, the girl saw how beautiful the place looked. The fireplace was set, the tree was shining bright, and music softly played in the background. Perfect. Simply Perfect...well not everything.

Leading to the second act of the movie, she noticed out of the corner of eye, how there was an incoming call, coming from her computer. As soon as Joanna saw the caller ID, she paused the movie.

The second, Joanna picked up the call, and she was greeted with a charming grin. It was Bucky , dressed in jacket and sweatpants, smiling right at her. Bucky sat in his quarters,

“Hey baby, how are you?” He asked, missing her like crazy. There were soft noises being heard, most likely his buddies doing some phone calls themselves.

“I’m good, but better now that I’m talking to you.” She replied, sipping her hot chocolate.

Bucky had been shipped out for over 3 months now, to god knows where, knowing he couldn't really say his location. And what makes it even worse, is that he is going to miss out on the holiday season. Especially, knowing that he won’t be home until after Christmas, most likely January. They are counting down the days, to see each other again...

“How was your day?” Joanna asked, placing her hand on her stomach.

“It was pretty good, actually. Nothing too major, how about you?” Bucky said, sitting back in his chair excitedly, “Are you showing yet?”

“A little. Peanut, has been growing since the last time we talked.”

“Peanut?! So you did go with my nickname after all!”

“Well you kept calling it that, since day one...and it just stuck. I really wish you were here, apparently even Roxy misses you.”

“Of course, she does...but real talk, I will be home before you know. It’s just 2 more weeks, I promise.”

“I know.”

Roxy came running in, hearing her owner's voice, happily barking at Bucky . He quickly greeted the dog, smiling at both of his girls. Joanna smiled at the sight, suddenly her eyes widened, as she bit her bottom lip.

Bucky noticed, “What happened? Are you and peanut okay?”

“Well apparently, peanut loves the sound of her or his father's voice.” Joanna explained, looking over at him rubbing her belly.

His eyes widened in realization of her words, “Peanut kicked?! That’s amazing, maybe singing would make him or her kick some more?”

Without another word, Bucky sang, “...the snow's comin' down, I'm watchin' it fall, lots of people around..baby, please come home. The church bells in town are ringing in song, full of happy sounds...baby, please come home.

Joanna started singing with tears in her eyes as she sang, “They're singing Deck The Halls, but it's not like Christmas at all..'Cause I remember when you were here. And all the fun we had last year…

Eventually, they talked and sang for around half an hour, laughing the whole night through. Roxy snuggled up against Joanna ’s side, until they fell asleep. Bucky smiled from the other side of the camera, watching the whole scene play out. With tears in his eyes, he whispered under his breath, “Baby I’ll be home, before you know…”

The next morning, Bucky sneaked into the house, suitcases in hand, looking around at the beautiful direction hung around the living room. ‘Wow, she has really gone all out.’ he thought. Bucky was taken out of his thoughts , as he heard soft barking coming from Roxy. He hugged the dog, took out her christmas present and handed it to her. Roxy happily barked, taking her new chew toy.

Bucky rolled his eyes, then he quickly heard, ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ and smiled, making his way to the kitchen.

He found his girlfriend dancing and softly singing to herself, not even realizing her own surroundings. Bucky smiled to himself, softly singing along with tears in his eyes.. He smoothly walked over, gently looping his arm around her waist, while his hand held onto hers.

Joanna stopped singing mid-way, realizing the arms wrapped around her waist, as tears appeared in her eyes, smiling. She turned around to face him as he just stood there smiling.

Without a word, they pulled each other into a tight hug, not wanting to let go. Bucky leaned in for a kiss and she happily obliged.

“Oh god, I missed you…” He whispered into the kiss, “..you have no idea.”

“I missed you too...I’m so happy your home.” She replied, pulling apart, before kissing him once more.

Since Bucky was so close to his girlfriend, he felt the baby’s movements as he grinned. He moved his hand from her waist to her pregnant belly as he said, “I missed you too, peanut. Daddy can’t wait to see you soon.”

Joanna smiled at the scene, she couldn't be more happier to have her soon-to-be little family back together for christmas. Bucky noticed the look, knowing exactly what she was thinking. They hugged, standing there in happy silence.

“Merry Christmas, honey.” Joanna said, kissing his cheek.

“Merry Christmas.” Bucky replied, smirking at her, as he remembered the music still playing, “...would you like to dance?”

“Gladly.”
