Smallville 20th Anniversary! My Thoughts and Opinions on the show!

10 years full of storytelling and a crazy roller coaster ride of Clark Kent become the amazing man he is today. Superman. So here is my little tribute to the show! These are my thoughts and opinions on the beloved show, so if your own disagreements I would like to hear them in the comments.

The show was honestly amazing in my opinion, yes it had its ups and downs but it worked really well. It took the idea of the icon red, yellow and blue character and brought him into a new light. It started out with Clark and his friends like Chloe in High School, then College and finally working to fight villains in Metropolis. One of the things Smallville is that isn’t about exactly becoming Superman, it was more about figuring out what your future is, who is really there for you and mostly about having hope.

Courage and hope to be exact. I also feel that the show resonated with people because it had the amount of heart, drama and high states that we especially resonate with superhero stories now.

Something like some fans of the CW Arrowverse don’t exactly realize, that if it was for Smallville we wouldn’t have all the superhero shows we have today.

It was definitely that starting point.

It brought elements of action, light and hope into people’s eyes. I feel like if you are an Arrowverse fan and you watched Smallville, you will definitely pick up on certain elements and characters the moment you see them on screen. It’s definitely a game of guess who’s who and you also see the similarities and differences.

Oh I would like to give a shout out to in my opinion, the best Lex Luthor played by Micheal Rosenbaum! Oh my god i loved Lex, he wasn’t evil from the start but with everything that happened to him he turned evil!

So if i had to go back to the idea of hope and light on this, Lex was a good representation of light turning dark because no one is born evil they are made into that worst version of themselves based on what happened to them. It was something that I really liked and I feel like Micheal played him really well.

Another thing I would like to point out are the guest stars and music they played on the show! I loved it! They had so many good songs on the soundtrack that were iconic popular songs and that theme song is iconic! Also the guest stars will leave you surprised, a lot of actors that you know now like Amy Adams, Jensen Ackles, Dean Cain, Christopher Reeves, Carrie Fisher, Ian Somerhalder and the list just keeps on going!

Aside from all the good parts of the show, there were a few downfalls. One of the biggest ones for me was making Lois and Clark together in the very end. I hated that so much!

Clark and Lana were sweet, don't get me wrong, but it was this annoying roller coaster ride of will they won’t they, with this “high school sweetheart” romance but they only were actually together for a small part of the show.

It was pretty nice but I would’ve liked to have Clark and Lana have a romance from season 1-6 then leave season 7-10 for Lois and Clark.

You weren’t able to see that romance with Lois and Clark’s relationship grow romantically on the show because they took most of the time for the Clark and Lana roller coaster ride that was dragged on for too long!

So in result, we only got Lois and Clark finally romantically involved in season 9-10, that’s it. It was lovely, don't get me wrong, but I really wish we had more time.

Since they mentioned it many times throughout the show that there is something about Lois and Clark that just works, the chemistry, the attitude and the dynamics—it just works!

However I would say that I really liked that you saw the evolution of Lois and Clark going from hating each other to friends to loving each other in the end. I adored that since you saw they are falling in love with one another.

Now like i said before in the very beginning that this story is everything leading up to Clark Kent becoming Superman and let me just say, the moment it happens your heart swells up with joy as the music plays and he does the iconic move where he show the suit and everything!

I can honestly keep going about my favorite and least favorite things about Smallville but we will be here all freaking day! So let’s wrap this up, shall we?

As you can see I love Smallville and everything it brought to the table. It had action, romance and drama but most of all, great messages hidden throughout the show.

Did you like Smallville? Who was your favorite character? Let me know in the comments below!

And don’t forget to like and share with your fellow superhero fans! Anyway, ciao for now!
