Welcome back everyone! You saw the title, so you know that we're going to talk about Marvel Studio's What If Season 1! So let’s get start!
The show was basically a roller coaster ride of emotions, actions and wanting more! One change funny or simply one might have thought not important changed the course of the story.
Right off the bat, I enjoyed the series and the creative ideas they brought to each single episode. The first episode was a smash hit with “What if…Captain Carter were The First Avenger?”
Since it was just action packed with Peggy just being the freaking badass along with her friends such as Howard Stark supporting her the whole time! The woman didn’t take no for an answer, proud of herself and of course, had her mini love story with her man like she should.
Almost every episode took place during a different stage of the MCU like during 2012 when The Avengers were supposed to come together and stop Loki or 2011 when Thor came to earth, I found that pretty cool.
The next episodes I enjoyed were Black Panther as Star Lord, Doctor Strange losing his heart (sad of course but i like it) and Thor just being an only child episode. They were interesting, fun and brought the characters we know and love into a new light. I couldn't ask for more.
Of course I enjoyed the other ones even though it was kinda heartbreaking and shocking to see! Like hello?! They killed The Avengers for god’s sake?!
That was crazy smart! They killed them all off one by one and once it leads to the end everything comes together with who the killer is. One of the things I loved about season one was the different characters that showed up, even if it was for a few minutes of screen time.
Beside the fact that if it was a collection of stories of the characters we adore having a different arc, it all lead up to the combination that happened in the end.
Spoiler warning, THE WATCHER SCREWED UP because he took a stupid oath not to interfere with the universes but because he didn’t bad shit happened!
Episode 8 being “What If…Ultron won?” basically made him into an indestructible clever being technological investment which is what he intentionally is in many comic books—with him having Vision within him! Not only that but the Infinity Stone too!
Ultron legit was Thanos with the other stones deciding to use the mind stone and slice him in half like it was nothing?! Dude’s powerful. What made it even crazier was that Ultron decided to kick the Watcher’s ass as a result causing the Watcher to assemble a team called The Guardians Of The Multiverse using the characters we saw in the other characters.
Of course that team consisted of T’challa, Peggy, Dr Strange, Thor, Killmonger, Natasha and Gamora took Ultron down.
I found it pretty cool and the animation was nicely done. Overall, I enjoyed the whole season 1 of Marvel Studio’s What’s If seeing all out favotive MCU characters taking on different storylines and leading you to wanting to see more storylines to be continued.
For example, at the end of the finale you saw that it was Captain America The Winter Soldier for Captain Peggy Carter’s universe! I hope that with the next season we get to see that evolution of that along with the other character’s movie. Ahh i can't wait to see what they come up with for season 2 of the show! I hope we get to see more Thor, more Dr Strange and hopefully get some more Gamora too!
