During the 1940s
You met each other in the 1940s as he made you smile and after less than a few dates he automatically fell in love with you.
Being friends with Steve Rogers and his sister Rebecca Barnes as well. Later being friends with Agent Peggy Carter too.
You worked in a diner/bar near a park in Brooklyn however over time you went to work during the war as a field nurse and helping everyone else.
You first said “I love you” to each other at a carnival near the docks in Brooklyn, New York.
Dates turned into moving in with each other and planning your life together. It felt like a fairytale.
Bucky went to war promising to come back to you afterwards however it didn’t work that way. In result you were heartbroken but kept working with Steve and Peggy during the war and were frozen over the years.
Years Later In The 21th Century
You woke up in New York in the year 2008, thanks to SHIELD of course. They helped you get situated in your new life in the 21th Century as a modern girl. Working as a waitress and assistant at a few clothing stores when suddenly you were pulled in by SHIELD to work for them.
Since you were trained already it didn’t take much for you to get a few missions going undercover, saving people and traveling around the world to fix situations.
You were even lucky to work with Agent Phil Coulson to deal with Tony Stark aka Iron Man during 2008–2011. You became friends with Tony, Pepper and Rhodey, also Happy during your time there.
During one night however you were off work, relaxing at a bar when suddenly you saw him. The Winter Soldier, but he wasn’t there for you or so you thought. His eyes met yours.
A familiar wave or a sense of something more washed over the both of you. You were stunned to say the least. However on Bucky’s end, it felt like unlocking an old memory flashing though his eyes.
He approached you without hesitation and nodded for you to follow him to where he originally sat. You followed unsure but at ease for some reason. Bucky sat across from you as he leaning in, he said, “It’s you..I...I can’t believe it..”
“You remember me..I mean..wow..” You respond by sighing, taking it all in. His looks were different, his heart was in the right place and he looked like he saw a ghost. You both were. It was like time didn't move, you were at ease.
“I missed you...” “And I you...”
The night went as follows, you both just talked, held hands, laughed a bit and went for a walk down the street taking it all, like a fresh breath of air. Like nothing even matters…
As you sat on a park bench in pure silence as it hit midnight glancing at each other like it was a memory or a puzzle piece being put back into place…
Bucky’s metal hand slipped into your flesh one, gripping your fingers together as he cupped your cheek with his flesh one and simply brought your lips together into a kiss. It felt warm, sweet and tender like it brought you both back to the 1940s.
Over The Years
Many years later after that night both of you fell in love all over again every time you're in each other’s arms. Bucky’s so gentle with you, and so is his touch. Always calling you “doll” and spoiling you when he can, he always has been.
Sometimes you would catch him doing old hadits like staring at you, kissing your knuckles, holding your waist in public, even a few kisses in public settings and forehead whenever given the chance.
In result Sam would tease you guys by saying, “DUDE LET HER BREATHE! She’s not going anywhere.” and Bucky would just glare at him, “Shhh man you're jealous.”
Both of you are going on missions and missing each other, however Bucky gets nightmares from past missions. And you're always there to comfort him and he would always do the same for you.
He love dancing in the kitchen in the morning, calling you “my wife” and saying it in normal conversation with complete strangers–
Oh yeah I forgot to mention, you both get married over the years! Bucky Barnes is your husband!
He didn’t hesitate after a few years of being back together to pop the question. He proposed right then and there on the docks in Brooklyn near your home. It was a small wedding.
Buying a dog/cat together (it took some convincing but it worked).
James Bucky Barnes is a very PROTECTIVE husband! If someone is looking at you the wrong way or staring at you for too long, he will painfully glare at them. Letting them know that you were taken or that they better watch their next move.
He’s always concerned, worried and or confused about a lot of things. Even after many years of being together and showing him stuff about the 21th Century.
But you love him either way. You were each other's home.
